Not long ago I have received a present and it was a book, a book that turned my world upside down! It took me a very long time to put my words together..... so here it goes!

I truly had no idea that things like FMG (Female genital mutilation, also known as female genital cutting and female circumcision, is the ritual cutting or removal of some or all of the external female genitalia.) still exist or even existed until this day, we live in a 21st century and you would of thought that the world is a better place to be in, considering the fact that we have so many rights as humans.

However after reading Hibo Wardere book “Cut” which was kindly gifted to me by her (thank you so so much for sharing this experience not juts with me but with the world) the book I have been gifted was in my native language (Lithuanian), this book has also been released in English and Polish translations.

I have came to the understanding that if we do not speak about our differences we will never realize of how cruel and blind is our world to the problems that happen right in front of us! This book whilst reading made me cry and cringe, I am not going to lie I was shocked, shocked that Girls at such young age has to experience something so barbaric, they don’t even get to enjoy their childhood..... My mind was blown away by every sentence of this book, I don’t think I ever felt the pain with any book that I have held in my hands. This book was real, and I relived every moment as it was my own.

Probably I will never understand the pain that all these women go through, but I had an opportunity to read and digest the emotions of Hibo. The book has given me a different angle of how I look at things. One day I will be a mother my self, and I would never, never ever in my life would want my daughter to suffer as many little girls did and still do up until this day.

Women are strong, independent, beautiful, loving, willing to live and to learn - creations of this planet, what did they do to deserve the pain, the pain they receive to please a Man.

Correct me if I am wrong, but nowhere in any book, or religion has been said that women should sacrifice themselves!

We give more than we take, and yet again we do not stand as equals against the humanity.

I am truly blessed to meet Hibo in real life, not just through her book, not just through her written pain, but in real life, and let me tell you one thing: I couldn’t be more proud than I am now to have met this beautiful, strong and truthful women who fights everyday for a better tomorrow for all of our future generations, alongside with many more women, who are not afraid to speak and not afraid to standup for themselves and others!

The reason of my blog post is to actually make every one of you believe in YOU! Yes you are capable of more than you think: please do not stay quiet when the world needs to hear the truth, do not be blind to the pain that keeps spreading among us, do not stop if someone told you that you can’t achieve something, do not put your self down juts because you have failed, and never ever in your life let people take away your beliefs, hopes and dreams, because people who fight, strive and live to the fullest - will be the ones who will change this world in to a better place, because Together We Are Stronger !

Kisses,

Cherry
